I'm not sure where that came from but if it was directed at me I'm really confused. I love the game and I play it a lot?
Holy cow no! That isn't at all directed at you! That was 100% a generalization. People treat SC2 balance like an entitlement, and it isn't was my point. If you don't like it nobody is forcing you to play. "You" being the people that feel like they are entitled.
I never considered that context, lol. The over arcing point is that I pray it doesn't turn into he who complains most wins. It's an easy trap to fall into. Perception is king, and if the perception is that qqing is what it takes then that just fosters more QQ.
The main issue is the lack of communication from Blizzard. That would clear up a lot of the QQ. The communication that does come out seems to hardly make sense from time to time. Admitting that Terran is the most complete race and Protoss and Zerg need work for example. Saying they don't want to remove units or nerf Terran b/c they like where they are. Then nerfing say 4 gate for example b/c PvP isn't dynamic enough, then Blink, removal of KA. All significant changes to a race that is unfinished, AND puts it at a disadvantage to the complete race. Much of it seems to be poor game design. Why you would release a game that relies on the multiplayer experience to survive without completing all the races is beyond me. But that is Blizzards prerogative.
It's in everyone's best interest if the game is balanced, but if they keep making changes it may never get there, or maybe it will. Seems like everyone is at a loss on the subject.

I understand the sentiment, but personally I enjoy watching TvTs
Granted, but I believe the context or rather point of the article is what is the breaking point? Are you satisfied watching only TvT for the next month, 2 months, or forever? As Sympatico says "you can't have spaghetti every night for dinner, no matter how much you like it". It's safe to say too much of any race mirror match is a bad thing.
I understand the sentiment, but personally I enjoy watching TvTs (notably more than PvP and ZvZ). I think the problem is just that there are a lot of good players playing terran and innovating better.
Terran is bar far the most played race in Korea. Korea is where 99% of the meta game is born, and developed. With more great players playing Terran the will innovate better and faster.
I do honestly think if these players would crack down and practice more, they'd start figuring out ways to fight back against terran.
Terran is bar far the most played race in Korea. Korea is where 99% of the meta game is born, and developed. With more great players playing Terran the will innovate better and faster.
So Terran admittedly being the complete race, played by Koreans who essentially create the meta game are ahead in Talent, numbers, and design. It's going to take more than buckling down, it's going to take a brilliant player to innovate something new, I'm still holding my breath.
I am a zerg player and everyone knows we have done our fair share of whining, but lately protoss is whining just as much, if not more.
Sorry zerg owns that award outright. I actually saw a popular post organizing the next QQ pertaining to Hydra's. Suggesting less infestor use and more hydra to re enforce the QQ. Actually organizing what to QQ about next... Think about what Toss has taken on the chin. Flux viens, KA, 4gate, now Blink timing. By and large Toss has been quiet. Had they been more vocal maybe KA would have been slightly nerfed rahter than removed. Look at the PTR response from Zerg on the infestor nerf for NP. Maybe if Protoss Bitched and Moaned as an organized union KA would still be with them.... the reason you are hearing more Toss complain is due to the influence of pros that are now speaking out: oGsMC, EGIdra, EGIncontrol, EGHuK and dignitasNaniwa, and even POLT (he plays Terran)
Polt: I see a lot of Terran players in Code S this season, and I think this is due to the benefit of the race; Terran being easier - Terran being OP. So that means that some of these players actually don't deserve to be here skill-wise, they're only here because they are Terran, and I think I should drop some of them out. (Again, he plays Terran)
And I promise you this. If zerg had the same loss rate vs a terran strat. (111) that Toss does they would be screaming louder than they usually do.
Which brings me to my next point.
If this game turns into whom ever complains most wins, count me out. I will cast the games at the highest level, and be happy with that. I would have 0 interest in playing. I agree with one thing, the game should have time to develop. Which is why now I actually think they may have taken KA out a bit too early, especially with ghost play becoming more prevalent.
My feeling here is that they are going to balance the game around Terran in HOTS. It is what it is for now, you don't like it. That's your choice nobody is making you play the game.

Speaking to the point of the one race domination in terms of entertainment value not balance.
Artosis on State of The Game predicted 30 Terran 1 Protoss and 1 Zerg in one of the next 2 upcoming GSL seasons. TvT MLG Anaheim, Code S, Code A, This season is almost a statistical certainty, with MVP the favorite to win and what 20+ other Terrans chasing him. Speaking to just the point about is all of this TvT bad for viewership, that answer is a no brainier, of course it is. Mirror matches are the least anticipated by the fans, mainly because many of the fans don't enjoy playing Mirror matches themselves.
Regardless of the race TvT, PvP, ZvZ, it's painfully obvious that nobody wants to see a league, much less a championship comprised of all one race.
I foresee GSTL becoming more popular for the time being because it ensures people have variety. The team league offers many different match ups and the added suspense of who will face who at any given moment.

OK, knowing nothing about competitive LoL I'm going to have to root for SK, simply cause they send MC to foreign tournaments. SK FIGHTING! ... does that work in LoL too?

I'm not going to lie, I'm excited about this. My SC2 purest friends are going to give me hell, but I don't care. I started streaming some LoL games I play to wind down from SC2. I'm terribad so it's fun for me and whomever else that gets to laugh at me.
At any rate I can't wait to check this out!

I'm probably the minority in this for sure, but I really wasn't upset in the least when the Koreans won MLG. I may be a tad more excited if a foreigner wins just because it's a long shot. But I just love watching these guys. Boxer winning an MLG would be amazing in my mind. Again I would assume I'm the minority in this regard, but I love the Korean pros.

I don't know about the hometown aspect. I don't feel like there is a sense of nationalism around SC2. It isn't devoid of it, but I just don't think it is prevalent, it's certainly not on the same level of the Olympics in terms of national pride. Truthfully it doesn't have to be. Again it's mostly 1v1 like in Tennis or boxing. I don't care what hometown Mike Tyson is from I just loved watching him in his prime. I was happy when Huk won dreamhack, but the fact he was a forigner was just the cherry on top. I don't see people saying Idra isn't winning so I'm not watching. SC2 is just too damn entertaining to it's demographic for that to happen. IMO.

The fact that SC2 is such an international draw I find that most people have no problem rooting for Koreans as their favorite players. They just appreciate play at the highest level regardless of where the player is from. It's not like a hometown team sorta thing. This is an international stage which allows for a more broad fan base AND allows fans more options in who to pick as a favorite.
I think people enjoy watching: Boxer, MMA, MVP, MKP, oGsMC, Huk, Naniwa, Losira, Nestea, on and on regarless of their geographical location. Sure it's nice to root for forigners, but at the end of the day they just aren't there yet. That's why I adoped oGsMC as my favorite Korea player.
But being that it is international you fans are offered soo many options. Personally I have a favorite forienger and a favorite Korean pro. To be honest I have a favorite in each from each race lol.
At the end of the day I can root for oGsMC with the same passion as if I was rooting for my hometown football team (Steelers). Side note: sure MC is having a tough time right now, but I'm not fair weather. I stick with my Boss Toss!
Nestea, MVP, Losira, Boxer, so fun to watch too though!

It was 4-1 but the game Top took off of him, MVP per usual did so much with so little and made it close all things considered. Again he does so much with so little.

Hell yes. I just casted his MLG Raleigh series reply vs KawaiiRice for MLG.tv and man his play is looking so solid. What's not to like about this guy? Great attitude, solid play, English accent so he just sounds smarter than everyone else. The guy is money in the bank. He is my favorite Foreigner Terran.

This is just a great idea. I pray that the already awesome eSports community can still see entertainment value in this, I know I can. There have been times when I was casting and left the stim.tv overlay up. So the fist part of the cast is radio style. The funny thing is that many people have actually made positive comments about this. I'm not saying they want the overlay up, but they seemed intrigued for the few minutes of not seeing video, yet still hearing the game.
I'm going to tune in right away and check this out. Love the idea.

This is where it takes a strong leader to step up and say really? Are we going to trivialize ourselves to this level? We have much bigger issues to deal with together as one nation. Had the President of the NAACP chapter said something along those lines it would have done everyone including himself some good.
I am very close with the former president of our local NAACP chapter and his take is some people will do anything for a headline, and that is unfortunate.
