Yeah, like what Fenner said, most of the photos were taken with a Nikon D700 and a 70-200 2.8 lens. I had a couple using a wide angle and I had a second body with a Nikon d90 and 25-70 2.8 that I used sometimes.
Most of the time I shot in aperture priority since the lighting was so varied.

The secret is to take a lot of shots XD I had 2000+ photos at the end of Blizzcon, and after I went through them all, only had around 60ish remaining.
I'm pretty bad at judging lighting, so to make up for it, if I think it could be cool, I just take a bunch of shots and hope I get something good :D

If by ESFI's photographer you're talking about Jinn, then yeah, she's pretty awesome. Much better than me at photography :p (As she should be, since she does it for a living).
Most of the post processing I do is adjusting white balance, exposure, and shadows to try and lessen or sometimes enhance the contrast. Also judicious use of noise reduction in Lightroom.

We have a ton of better pictures from many of us, but cell cameras were the easiest and fastest ways to get pictures out. Trust me when I say that you don't want to convert, edit and then upload jpgs from camera RAWs on the convention center wireless.
I personally have a ton of pictures I took, and I know that there a tons more. I'll try to get them up tonight.

I was talking with Mr. Chae, the GSL head, and I can say that they were not, but are ecstatic at the reaction.

Nice, informative post. But the thread title is just a little retarded.. TSL have no control of how epic the finals are, just as the GSL doesn't control which players face each other in the finals.

Haha, yeah, technically. But I riffed off Gods of the Arena, and that was a prequel to Blood and Sands :p

Don't get me started on the unpowered cannon behind the Protoss's third :p Forgot to put a pylon there.
But yeah, without some very tedious select&move; triggers in the editor, the best you can do for planned encounters is to pre-arrange units in a hopefully good formation and tell them to do at it.

You have depth of field controls with the cameras in-game, so I used that.

Out of curiosity, how does IGN profit from this? It all seems too good to be true. EDIT: great league btw, the production value is absolutely incredible. I don't want to watch anything else.

Not everything is about profit. Many things are about gaining mindshare, gauging response, and basically polishing for the real deal. That sad, there are ads running on JTV.
