Yeah when you make a thread/reply there is a link to that same daringfireball guide to markdown in the top right, so just read through that for now.
There should be a WP-specific guide later, but the markdown is being changed a lot right now. It's mostly the same as reddit, just try it out. The main thing that is changed is that six #'s don't make spoilers. Use [ spoiler ] tags (with no spaces) instead, and close it.

If they already have spores on the field, it's because they already scouted the stargate and/or air units. Nothing to do with sneaking tech.
It was just an example. I meant that if you're relying on 6 seconds of faster root time then you're probably not prepared for the attack that's coming.
At least in the GSL there is a big swing towards opening phoenix when going stargate. Faster rooting spores doesn't help one bit against phoenix, you need to have them in place before they get there or they just go somewhere else. And even if they're in place, phoenix just take the hits. Which is why a damage buff would help more than a mobility buff.
How often do you see somebody go phoenix and just lift up workers even with a spore lobbing balls at them? I see that all the time.
