Oh my goodness, they could be in French if they're uploaded early!
Edit: And the comment box at the rest of my comment... hm.
Anyway! You are, without a doubt, the best person on the internet. Much, much, much love!

I've been fooling around with archon builds against T and Z, since they're both heavy bio groups, but I haven't quite gotten the whole Broodlord problem figured out, and I was already pretty okay with PvP after figuring out what the timings were for a 4-gate (which took a whole other thread to figure out haha).

I'm not super clear on this myself, so anyone reading feel free to correct me, but as I understand it:
TSL = A team. It stands for "The SCV Life". Puma was a member of TSL before he went to EG. Fruitdealer is also from TSL. GSL = Global Star League. This is the big tournament in Korea. It's separated out into Code A, Code B, and Code S. GSTL = Global Star Team League. This is the GSL, but for 2v2s and the like. Fun with friends for money! keSPA = (This one needs tons correcting, I'm sure) The governing body of eSports in Korea. I'm not sure exactly how they work, but I think they're the ones that give out professional gaming licenses and stuff like that. GOMTV = A channel in Korea that's like ESPN for StarCraft. They televise tournaments and supply the people necessary for translations.
Hope that helps! If not, I hope the corrections help haha.
Whoops. Forgot the Codes.
Code B = Essentially the GSL open brackets. It's not a real tournament, and it a set of people trying to qualify for Code A. Code A = The second level of GSL. This is the actual beginning of the tournament. Players in Code A are trying to qualify for Code S. Code S = The big fancy tournament at the end of GSL. This is the best of the best and this is where the competition for prizes begins.

Hi there JoelE,
Welcome to WP! We don't really have a "social ladder" here. If you'd like to get recognized, however, start with quality content. That's everything from strategy guides, discussions, to news about players, teams, and tournaments. As far as gaining upvotes goes, just be nice! Help people out, ask your questions politely and be clear, and try not to rage on people, even if they seem to deserve it.
Generally our policy is upvote if you like, if it's helpful for anyone (even if it's not for you), or if the poster has a valid point. Only downvote if the content is blatantly incorrect (and try to post a sourced correction, if you can), or if there's no content at all. Disagreement isn't a good reason to downvote; instead, post why you disagree and try to spark some conversation!
Also, I second egilith. The cake would probably help haha.
6 in Hi I am new here -
This is going to sound terribly rude, but I can't think of any other way to put it. I don't really want the HoN/LoL/DoTA community seeping in among the SC2 community of NASL.
I mean that in the way that NASL was having enough trouble to begin with. The SC2 community is known for being nice and helpful, but with all the things NASL goofed on in the beginning of the tournament, even the the SC2 community was lashing out, players and viewers alike. iNcontroL got a lot of flak for hyping NASL so much and then having the first games and their presentation feel like such a flop. While the NASL team improved a lot, there were still a lot of snags during the finals and a lot of people weren't happy.
Now, the HoN/LoL/DoTA crowd isn't exactly known for being... the most sterling set of internet-dwellers. Not to say that all of the community is bad, and I couldn't say one way or the other about their professional players, but the community at large doesn't exactly have a reputation for being anywhere near forgiving of anything that even kind of smells like a mistake, be it player, pro, or viewer. I'm kind of afraid that bringing in that kind of, well, unhappy community, coupling it in with the mistakes the NASL production seems to be prone to, is only going to cast a dark cloud of rage and negativity over the whole thing. It's certainly something NASL doesn't need.

So. Many. Tanks.
Thanks again for so much leg work! But it makes me kind of scared to ladder lol.

Bleh...
BLEH!
Thank you very much for the write up. I'm looking forward to your other breakdowns. A friend of mine and I plan on playing on all the maps as custom games and just beating on each other to see what all we can do, but you covered some major stuff here.
It seems the "logic" behind these was if you have an easy to defend front, then you should have a hard to defend rear. All of the spawning locations with "normal" walls are easy to harass with mutas, and vice-versa.
I'm also not sure I like the fact that the developers are kind of forcing people to do 2-base all-ins with those low thirds. They're tempting, being gold, but the fact that they're both low ground expos and hemmed in by a John's Common Knowledge Hallway that's well out of the way of building vision (see how little of it is actually flush with the main platform?), they're gong to be a nightmare to hold on to. The blue thirds aren't much better, also being low ground and being despicably close to your opponent's nat, depending on spawns.
The center also makes me weep with the thoughts of tanks.
Oh boy. This is going to be quite the season.

I am indeed NA. I'll toss you an request in-game when I've gotten some sleep haha. Thanks for helping!

I'll go mess with the buttons you gave me first haha. I don't want to totally overload myself with new keys, but I'll toss you a PM when I get those ones all sorted out! =D

Ah, yeah, I guess I've just been mistaking a normal push at around 7:30 for something associated with the 4-gate. I'll fuss with my times and things and see what I end up with. Thanks!

I have an 8 button mouse, so I'm not short any buttons there. Which is drag-scroll? I'm starting to get the impression I have no idea what most of the actual controls for StarCraft are lol.

Yeah, I haven't heard anyone else mention a problem with me, so I'm 99% sure it's just me, but I can't figure out what's wrong with them. I literally have no buffering problems with videos anywhere else on the internet, but the NASL VoDs, for whatever reason, like to take about an hour a piece to load completely for me. I can't find anywhere that the website is blocked, either through Chrome or my firewall, and I've tried different browsers. So, if it's something I can't fix, I just hope they archive the VoDs someplace so I can get through them. I will eventually, but I'm kind of afraid it won't be fast enough. >

You know, I didn't even notice that the screen was cut off. Your gameplay and commentary, even if the gameplay is low-level, is entertaining enough that the screen itself wasn't much of a problem.
Glad to see you're sticking with it! =D

I need to go through and look at what all you can do with hotkeys haha. Never really knew about this stuff. Is base cam the one that cycles through your bases every time you hit the key? I usually just have my nexii bound to a numerical, which makes it so I can double-tap back to my main, but I have to manually click the minimap to get over to my others.
1 in Hurtling Blindly Towards Gold -
I wonder if they're going to archive the VoDs from the first season somewhere. For whatever reason, mind load soooooo slowly that I can only watch one or two a day, so I haven't watched most of the games yet. x_x

Thank you very much for the hotkey! i didn't know you could mess with the camera at all. I used to just bind my farthest out pylon to some hotkey I never use for anything else, like 0, but a camera bind to tilda sounds much more convenient.
And I use Grid so everything's over on one side of the keyboard. I don't click anymore, thankfully, haven't done that since I got out of silver league, so at least that isn't a problem.
1 in Hurtling Blindly Towards Gold -
I play all the time! I just... lose most of them. XD Oh well.
Yeah, I'll try being more aggressive in PvP. I tend to kind of hide in my base and cower then lose when it comes time for the clash of the titans at the end of the game. I usually get +1 attack in PvP, but can never afford anything else.
1 in Hurtling Blindly Towards Gold -
People often belittle things in public that are very important to them as a defense mechanism. If you like to win at StarCraft all the time, but tell people you don't give a rat's behind, then, when you do lose, no one makes a big deal out of it.
I know I say I'm going to quit all the time when I don't do well at thing that are important to me lol. I never actually quit, but occasionally it makes me feel better to rant and rave and hate on the things I love because they're driving me batty.
But hey, he's out here attempting to help people, I guess. At least he's doing something for the community outside of entertaining us by harassing pro-gamers.
Edit!
Also, holy moly, Combat talks so fast haha.
