It's always much easier to tear down than build up, I'll admit that there are some issues, but I'd hardly say its gg yet. There are a lot of pushes during birth, all painful but necessary, if nothing else should NASL fail, at the very least lessons will have been learned that will benefit future tournaments/leagues.

I disagree entirely, as I play random. I would love to actually see some evidence to back up your claim that random players "cheese more than any other race." Also, your example of Tal Darim is just awful, considering that the random player has a huge map to try to figure out where you are so that he can cheese you, I've run into cheese on Xel'naga more than any other map because no scouting is required for the cheeser to know where you are.
You also state that zerg as a race is more likely to be cheesed by random players than by even fellow zergs, I would love to see some evidence of that as well, do you have any sources to back up this claim? I play random because I enjoy all three races, and because if I play the same race over and over I get a little bored, and I can count on one hand the times I have employed any cheese tactics, and guess what? I think I've lost more than i have won.

I'm mildly amused at the impotence of Blizzard's actions here. In the future fans will engage in this vigilante justice without any urging from the player they are watching, which insulates the player and underscores blizzard's inability to police their game. This is exactly how organized crime works in real life, most of the criminal activity is done without specific direction from the higher ups, which protects them from prosecution. As a fan of Destiny, I have a vested interest in seeing that he is able to play without being interrupted by trolls; i have limited time to watch and don't want it ruined by people like deezer. They punished him this time because he encouraged it, in the future he won't need to.

I wonder if its italicized because they added it after their initial announcement, as I don't remember that being in the notes when they were released. Personally I'm happy about it on the one hand as I primarily go archon heavy and now they won't be able to np those. On the other hand I can see this being a very frustrating change for zerg, as many of them feel the infestor was the one unit they had that leveled the playing field.

Playing on the ladder feels an awful lot like gambling to me, due to the system trying to keep you at 50% win/loss, the more games i win the more nervous i get, sometimes i find myself looking for excuses to quit playing on the ladder for the night when i've won a few in a row. People can say don't worry about ranking all they want but i do worry about it, even though i shouldn't. I totally agree though that the best cure is to just play, like working out when you're sore, its hard to find the motivation but once your muscles get warmed up the pain goes away.

Ok so assuming I am the kind of person that would be open minded to what a more knowledgeable player would tell him, (which i am) what kind of results could i expect, assuming im playing with a full deck and didn't get kicked in the head by a horse in my childhood or anything. currently im platinum, i know i've heard most coaches say that a person at least gets to diamond with coaching, though i know you obviously can't guarantee anything since im the one that still has to play the games, how well do your students usually perform?

I'm on NA. I'm mostly just hoping to get other people's thoughts if they paid for coaching and thought it was worth it. I love sc2 but spending upwards of $80 per hour isn't realistic to me, I have a family to feed. I am willing to pay but that just seems a little silly to me. I think I'm going to look at hotkeyit.com for sure also looking at acelessons.com that seems to have reasonable prices.
Also I'm hoping to hear if anyone ever got coaching and realized a substantial result as far as their playing goes. Thanks for the replies!

Wonderful, another site on which i will never be able to participate in discussions because im only platinum.

You make excellent points. The Japanese are better than Americans at baseball, but no one in the world cares about Japanese baseball. We here in the west are the best in the world at marketing and sensationalizing, and refusing to play in western tournaments will serve no purpose but to deprive them of a great deal of money.

I say go for it as well! I bought the game at launch and now am a platinum level random player. The rewarding feeling I get after winning a game or executing a build well hasn't been rivaled by many other games.
If money is tight then just keep playing the starter edition until you can afford it, my suspicion is that the longer you play it the more hooked you'll get.
Take my advice and don't worry about "getting good" at the game, just play it and one day you'll realize you're better than you used to be, and this will only open your eyes to ways that you can still improve which i think is a cycle that never ends. But don't get too caught up in that if it ruins your fun, there are so many ways to enjoy this game, from team games to a ton of addicting custom games.
In reference to your experience with FPS i can say that one thing i love about starcraft is that you can be good all by yourself and aren't forced to lose game after game after game due solely to other people's unwillingness to be a team player such as is often the case in FPS games. In this game if you win its all because of you!
One last thing, advice i give every one that asks me about starcraft 2 is to stay away from the blizzard forums, they are filled with hateful, spiteful, entitled whiners that will suck the joy out of the game. Spend your time talking with people that also enjoy the game and the purchase will be well worth it.
