You might have a bad chrome install. Worth a shot ¯\_(?)_/¯
by XMO
Already tried that like 5 times. But I've been using firefox the last week. I'll stick to it for a while :) I like change.

Awesome stuff. I'm just curious if you're allowed to use that content?

I think this patch is great.
We can all agree (well, almost all of us, i believe) that fungal was too powerful. It will now deal 40 damage, instead of 46,8. That's a huge difference. It was simply too strong against stalkers.
Regarding the hellions... the change that was done was one out of two possible. The other option was to increase the cost. That wouldnt solve the problem with blueflame hellions 2shotting workers though. I believe if you get +1 attack they will still 2shot Probes and Drones, and 3shot SCV's (they have 5 more HP due to no hp/shield regen). Not a too big change, but it kind of forces the player to get that +1, which again makes it more of an investment. Great change to be honest.
But for me, the most important part about this patch is the immortal, warpprism and ramp-vision change. I think 4gate will be pretty much useless now that vision up the ramps have been nerfed, aswell as immortal range is being buffed. Immortals can now hit pylons outside your ramp, and you can deny vision way easier. That will make it way harder to get that high-ground warpin, and 2gate robo will be alot more viable now.
I also think the warpprism needed the health buff. The reason I havnt used it, is because (as already mentioned in the thread) it's a flying death trap. It's simply too risky to have 4 HT's or 2 immortals inside it for the time being. I'd actually like to see an armor upgrade aswell. Possibly even instead of the shield boost.

Pool B: EG.Idra, d.Sjow, Liquid.Haypro, EG.Machine, ST.Bomber Bomber and Idra are crazy favorites to win this group.
by Jax
I disagree. I think SjoW has a better shot than what IdrA have. IdrA have been playing very poorly lately.

I do indeed. I did just recently change to firefox though. Because of all the problems chrome gave me. I talked to some of my buddies, and noone of them have any issues with chrome. It's weird.
Now that I use firefox it's fine though.

Hi. I'm a protoss player, so I dont really know that much about TvZ.
But I want to help you out as far as I can help you. The thing about mechplay from terrans is that it's not very mobile. As a zerg you have way way way more mobility than the terran. Use that to your advantage.
Does he want to push out? Do a coutnerattack with your lings. Does he want to get mapcontrol, and start positioning himself on the map? Harass him with mutalisks.
"Small" things like that can force a player to stay at home, and not really attack you. Over time you'll get an advantage that's too huge for him to close the gap.
As for the engagements themselves.. have you tried setting up a flank? Where you supprise him with a flank when he's not prepared? If you have mutas, you should have mapcontrol. If you have mapcontrol, you should know when he's moving out on the map. Use that to your advantage. When you see that he's planning on attacking you; burrow some baneligns. Hide 30 lings so you can flank. Be ready to attack him the second he's voulnerable. Attack him when he's not sieged up, and it'll all be way easier.

I stream alot when I play. Streaming is for me a good way to practice. I have fun with the viewers, and ladder doesnt get tiresome because of that.
Mainly I hit the ladder and just mass games like a crazy guy. When I lose, I think of what I could have done differently early on. If I don't understand what I could have done differently early on - I watch the replay.
I also tend to do custom games from time to time.
My best advise to you is to just ladder alot. After a match; sit down and think about what you could have done different or better. Even if you win.
My 2 cents.
Edit: Uhm wait what. This thread was on the frontpage, and the last reply is 2 months old? Ohgod. I feel stupid now.

Oh yeah, got my staff badge on!
by smash
Masters>Staff. I win :D
Edit: Dont want to be naggy, but if it's not too difficuly to add (never tell a programmer its "easy to be implemented"), I'd love the opportunity to change your badge when you klick the "edit" button. Being able to modify your badge aswell as the post content.

Is there any place with an overview of what the different badges stands for? I dont know what my "well-posted-bronze"-badge is trying to say. And karmaling, is that based on upvotes?
An overview site where you can see all available badges and their requirements would be awesome.
Edit: Yes. The text pops up when I hover it. Just my chrome being really stupid. I'm in firefox now, and everything works perfectly.

Alright. So here's a little sneakpeak I made just a few minutes ago. Here's how I'm currently planning on doing the unit-section. Any feedback regarding the design, or content of the design, is highly appreciated!
I want this to be good, and need all the feedback I can get. Everything below the following line is a preview of the guide, and should not be considered part of this post.

Do you play on the north american or european server? If you're on the european, I'll use an hour or two of my time to learn you the basics of starcraft that you need in order to win matches on the ladder :)
Many people struggle with Starcraft in the start, and have issues with winning at all. The trick is to not give up. Once you're starting to get the hang of it, it's amazing! I tell you.. the first time you win a long macro game, you'll feel great. I still do. Whenever I get out of a 30 minute long intense game as the winner, there's a huge sigh of relief. If you lose; queue up, hope to face the same guy, and rip is face off.
SC2 is awesome. You should buy it.

I would definitely consider small screenshots to help make the guide more readable and less like a monstrously huge wall of text. I would consider asking the community for feedback as you write various sections rather than at the end because there will likely be massive amounts of things you didn't think about from all kinds of different skill levels and leagues. I think it's fine to write a ton, especially about the Zealot. The key to winning with Protoss in my opinion is knowing how to use the Zealot properly more than anything else. I am a plat protoss as well. I think SimCity is wildly important for toss as well, but I'm biased because I wrote an article about Simcity for WP.org a few weeks ago :D I love the idea of a massive tutorial page. I'd love to help and I'm sure others would too.
by ScrapStation
Thanks for the feedback :) I was actually planning on contacting you, so I could ask to use your article as part of the sim-city section, as I really liked your article. I just didnt get there yet.
1 in The making of "Protoss 101: beginners guide to Pro... -
This sounds awesome - I can't wait to see your finished product!
I think the best answer to your first question is to use them all depending on what you're tying to accomplish. Text will be there regardless, but images can be useful for the sim city section and mixed in throughout the post to illustrate what the text is conveying. Video makes sense to utilize in build orders and tips/tricks sections as that can be demonstrated easily enough in video and can sometimes be harder to explain via text or images.
It seems like you enjoy writing about each unit and there's no reason you can't go as in depth on each unit as you did on the zealot, but I think it's best to let the reader decide. Maybe do a brief breakdown of each unit (say a paragraph or so) in the guide and use spoiler tags to hide the "in depth" discussion and let the reader decide if they would like to reveal the more thorough analysis/explanation on a certain unit after reading it in short form. Also, certain units probably should require more in depth discussion on it's abilities/usages (HT, DT, Warp Prisms, etc) than others which is another thing to keep in mind.
Hope this helps and good luck!by smash
That's a great idea. I'll write one short description for each unit, and one "in-depth" of each unit. So those who want to really get into how I look at the units, can feel free to do so. I also agree that units like the HT, DT, Warp Prisms, Phoenix etc. are way more complex than the zealot. Ill try to make short video-clips to illustrate some of the points i write about in the text.
can u make one for terran?
by jeffosho
I do not play terran, so I believe that will be a rather silly guide. You'll have to hope someone who plays terran descides to do so :) I'm sticking to protoss.
Personally I like a good text guide, with a nice video demonstration, so if you can, I bet a good ratio would be 3:1 text to video / images. also a smart idea of something to include would be basic MU starter builds. I would like to help you on this project as well, if you want. Msg me if you do.
by JoATMoN
I do appreciate a good text-guide too. But you have to keep in mind that there are people that's not too comfortable with reading English. With that in mind I think pictures and video can help out a bunch. There's also a lot of impatient people, who wouldn't take the time to read a guide like this. They would, however, take time to watch it in form of pictures and video.
I'll still include alot of text, but I think i'll try to illustrate alot of it, like i did when I made this picture.
If anyone got any other ideas, now is the time :)
Edit:
Oh and also. One more thing: When I'm illustrating the builds with videos, my builds are 100% spot on. They are 1-2 supply off at times. Do you think that would ruin alot of the point with the videoguide? I mean.. it's still the same build, just not executed 100% perfectly. I'm not HuK or NaNiWa, so to execute a build perfectly will be almost impossible for me, and I'll have to use replays in that case... which for me ruins some of the joy with making this tutorial. Thoughts?1 in The making of "Protoss 101: beginners guide to Pro...When I write down the build order, it'll of course be 100% accurate.. but it might be slightly off in the videos. Would that make you think "aw, fuck this shit."?

Does anyone know if this have been aired yet? If so; any place I could watch it?

Awesome post. I think taking this post on it's word can help many players with becoming better.
I also think what could help alot of players is to keep in mind that Starcraft is a game you play to have fun. You don't play it do you 10 minutes later become a potential criminal of some sort.
What I've been doing alot is taking a loss with a smile. It's actually not as hard as it sound. I do stream alot, and in order to not make it unbearable for the viewers to watch I try to keep up my morale. If you lose, laugh at it. Have fun the last two minutes of the game when you know its over, and you can pretty much do what ever you want. Play ninjasquad with your probes or top gear with your vikings. Just have a smile on your face when you hit f10+n. That way your mood will be so much better for the next match. It's unreal how much it helps.
Also, if you do rage.. remember to stop in time. Playing while frustrated, distracted or angry barely does any good to both your mood and ladderpoints.

I really hate Opera. As a norwegian guy i should probably force myself to like opera.. (opera is a norwegian browser). I just... i dont know. Don't like it. But everything is 100% perfect now that I use firefox, so there's nothing to worry about :)
