Total Biscuit is perfect for this. So awesome. Blown away. I love it. So sorry, literally just typing exactly what I'm thinking lol. Great Job Wellplayed.

I just wish they didn't cover the mini map, but other then that I loved it.

Ya it was really superb. I'm honestly kinda starting to expect that from anything WellPlayed though, it's so awesome how much work looks like gets put into these things. TotalBiscuit also did a nice job with it.

11May 23rd 2011 4:13 AM

Thanks!

We care about production values a lot. We hope to bring our standard to all the major esports venues. It is the only way to break into the mainstream as far as I can tell. I'll be putting this video on a DVD to show family who don't get Starcraft.

I agree so much, TotalBiscuit made this epic.

Thanks a lot guys! We're really glad people liked it, but almost got the impression that people forgot who produced it =P This means a lot to me and the rest of the staff.

8May 23rd 2011 4:27 AM

Excellent production value, you guys are seriously setting the standard for presentation in SC2 replays.

5May 23rd 2011 8:21 AM

I'm not much of a fan of TB's casting, but he is PERFECT for the top ten segment.

5May 23rd 2011 12:10 PM

I'm not sure why I'm still surprised by the quality at this point, but maybe it's just because WP productions keeps topping themselves!

5May 23rd 2011 4:07 PM

It really was a great interlude between games and the ever-present fantastic production quality from Welllplayed was more than evident. I am really looking forward to more of these each week.

3May 23rd 2011 4:34 AM

I liked it a lot!!

However just one thing was the whole countdown number thing, it seemed that the hexagons are too small, and make it very blurry to look at for just an extra while. Don't know if this was just me, but i found i had to look away for that.

3May 23rd 2011 5:13 AM

Yeah, there have been some reports about that. I'm trying to figure out what exactly causes this, since I didn't experience any of this while making them.

3May 23rd 2011 7:42 AM

It's all part of our plan for world domination. Don't tell them anything.

1May 23rd 2011 6:25 PM

Lol I liked the line: "but the Vikings are left unmolested" Rofl Listen out for it.

by klive5ive

It must be a British thing because TB says "unmolested" all the time.

2May 23rd 2011 7:30 AM

Nope. Perfectly common, if a little advanced for most, maybe, English. "Molested" has a sexual connotation in one definition, but can also be used to mean harassed, harried, annoyed or disturbed. So, the Vikings, not being hit by anything, are not being harassed, harried, annoyed, or disturbed.

I do like that TB uses more advanced terms for things. It makes him fun to listen to, for me anyway. I'm sure he loses people though. ><

Yep, I'm well aware of the varied definitions of the word. It just seems like in America at least, it's not a common phrase because of the emphasis that we put on the sexual connotation and it would probably turn a few heads because of the very negative stigma of the word.

I like his wordplay quite a bit as well. It's a big part of what makes him so entertaining, at least to me.

I would really like to see someone put together highlight packs for one of the leagues just like sportscentre. Basically a 30-45 second commentated recap of the Bo3. I think that the Top 10 looked incredible though. I loved it! I subscribed to wp's youtube just because of that ...

3May 24th 2011 12:33 AM

Also subbed, looking forward to more. :)

1May 24th 2011 6:25 AM

This is amazing you guys. It's stuff like this that makes the NASL so much more entertaining. Well done by all!

2May 23rd 2011 5:07 AM

That was excellently done. TB did fantastic and the play choices were spot on. The visual effects were all great with the only negative being the awkward hexagon style on the play numbers (Nothing wrong with it, but not my cup of tea). Really good job overall.

P.S. Everyone make sure to spread the word. They deserve more subscribers!

2May 23rd 2011 6:04 AM

I missed NASL today, so I'm very glad you posted this!

That was a good watch. I love TB as a caster anyway, but his play-by-play style fit these short clips perfectly. Very good choice. I'm loving the production skills of everyone here at WP more and more every day. And kudos to the users for such great picks!

Also, concerning the blurring of the hexagons for the numbers, perhaps it has something to do with the resolution/quality/screen size of the viewers? I'm watching on a 24" ACER monitor, at 360p (internet's not so fast), and I never maximized the player screen on YouTube and experienced no blurring. It may also be the glow effect on the number itself that bleeds out into the surrounding hexagons, due to the black/gray backgrounds that causes the illusion of blurring to some people. Not saying there is no blurring, just tossing out some suggestions.

2May 23rd 2011 9:02 AM

I'm working on a fix to this but since my eyes are unaffected to this I would probably need some guinea pi..... test subjects.

3May 23rd 2011 5:26 PM

You get this weird effect on your eyes when you full screen it. I don't know what these people were talking about until I did that. It probably because of the repeating pattern. I dunno.

2May 24th 2011 6:27 AM

By far one of the more entertaining segments of yesterday's NASL. TotalBiscuit is PERFECT for this type of thing. Really great production quality by WellPlayed, nothing I wouldn't have expected :)

Don't stop making great shit like this.
