There are four governing principles that form the foundation of WellPlayed.org: Unity, equality, quality, and passion.

1. To unify and centralize the eSports community.
2. To provide a community where every user is equal.
3. To make the user the judge of content’s quality.
4. To provide an environment where everyone can share his or her passion for eSports freely.

To preserve these four basic tenets, we have a few basic guidelines for what is and what is not not permissible on WellPlayed:

• Spam: Off-topic content that is not relevant to StarCraft II, eSports, or only tangentially relevant. Content that is relevant but is posted in the wrong forum will be relocated. Duplicate content and reposts of recent content are subject to removal.

• Solicitation and commercial advertising: Content that serves no immediate purpose other than to promote the commercial or personal interests of the submitter, including but not limited to referral links, is subject to removal.

• Everything: Links to content that is forbidden by U.S. law and Blizzard policy, including warez, bots, and hacks are forbidden on WellPlayed.org. Discussion on these items is permitted.

• Spoiler policy: All pre-event spoiler leaks are subject to requests for removal by the originators of that information. Spoilers about events currently publicly underway or events that have already publicly transpired are permitted, but these spoilers cannot be revealed or indicated in the title of a thread. Threads containing or potentially containing spoilers must be labeled as such in the title

• NSFW: All not safe for work content or potentially NSFW content must be labeled as such in the title of threads. Pornographic material is prohibited.

• Personal Information: Any information that is not publicly available about an individual is considered private. The posting of any private information is a prohibited offense.

• Hate speech: Speech that is explicitly or implicitly racist, sexist, homophobic, or bigoted is subject to moderation and not permissible on WellPlayed.org

• Real life threats of violence: All threats of real life violence are prohibited on WellPlayed.org and subject to moderation.

• Harassment: Abusive or excessive contact with an individual beyond the confines of a thread are subject to reporting and penal action by the moderators.

These rules are subject to change at any point, and do not represent an exhaustive list of what is permissible and impermissible on WellPlayed.org. Generally, the best rule of thumb is just to respect your fellow forum-goer and to approach the content posted on this site as maturely and respectfully as possible.
